Description
I have a long history with this image. It is inspired by a Loreena McKennitt song of the same title that I first heard when I was, oh, 13. I didn't have to fight hard for the image, it just came to me. The first time it was much more symetrical- there were two swans, facing each other, forming a harp between their necks.
The second time was maybe two years later, with the newly aquired Prismacolors, and it was a much richer image, and I got to play with the intoxicating mixture of orange and blue.
This time I sketched it and changed some of the imagery to tell more of the story, and used it as an excuse to learn Corel Painter 8. I pooped out before I gave the background enough attention, and I want to contain it in some kind of frame (art deco, maybe?), because it's an image of symbols, not a scene
I'm tired.
This won't be the last time she and I dance together.
